The Trial of Sherlock Holmes
Holmes was indicted in early September, 1895 for the murder of Benjamin Pitezel. He entered a plea of not guilty and when the judge asked, how will you be tried? Holmes said, by God in my country, which meant he wanted a jury trial. In October, he published his own supposed autobiography entitled Holmes's Own Story.
