The Dangers of Bird Flu
Dr Eric Carlson works on influenza prevention in Cambodia. In the UK, wild mammals such as otters, foxes, dolphins and seals have died after catching bird flu. Any mammal infection signals that the disease is mutating towards making human infection more likely. At least 10 people who work closely with poultry birds on farms in Asian countries are known to have died from this latest outbreak.
