The Relationship Between Rationalism and Pluralism
Alan Paul: Richard Boyd's work is building a bridge between ideal theorizing typically the work of political theorists and the kind of work that we are doing in the feasibility space. He says pluralist liberals generally regard certain pre-political or local moral claims that having greater priority than the obligations of the community while rationalist liberals are doing the other way around. Alan, you can respond maybe to an audience question but first I want to ask Jacob Solomon if he sees this tension as a fundamental tension in liberalism.
