The Left's Aversion to Narrative and Story
Sally Kohn: I think this kind of aversion to or lack of talent at some of the more emotional and narrative appeals, I actually think it's a point of commonality across various sections of the left. She says Bernie Sanders' total unwillingness to play in the kind of realms of like narrative and story was part of why he didn't do well on the campaign trail. "There were levels for him above where he was if he wanted to get where he was going," she said.
