Coalas have bacteria or microbes in their guts to help break down food into energy. But macala has discovered that they can also turn coalas into very picky eaters. Eucalyptus leaves are tough, fibrous and full of toxins. They're hard to eat and really hard to live off. And most animals can't. Somehow, kalas eat only these toxic leaves and nothing else.
