The Unreliable Data Collection in the First Three Months of the Pandemic

In the 21st century when we have diagnostic capability readily available, the best thing to do is to get some sense of how widely the infection has spread. How many people are infected? What is the proportion of people who are undetected based on clinical symptoms? And I think that it's very unfortunate that testing did not go very well, especially in the United States. The efforts at testing floundered with CDC, not really moving forward with reliable tests.
