When i worked with some of the top athets in elympic when we did that study on the highest performers, one of the things that came out was that they kind of across the board, had this ability to treat themselves like their own best friends. In their own celf talk. They weren't really judgmental and harsh on themselves. And so learning how to locate that point of pleasant tension is a powerful tool.
