Are We Getting It Wrong?
I attend to fly quantis where i can, and avoid certain other airlines based on what the known risk of flying on those aircraft is. I think this analysis in terms of costs of life is quite wrong. They speak in terms of a w that we have calculated the cost of a human life to be this or that. And so they were talking very much about people in the developing world. But i don't know who they are talking about. Who is this we it kind of reaks of an old style colonial paternalism. It's the individual who knows theirru best. When we step in, we tend to get it wrong.
