The History of Bison in North America

The history of bison in North America is tied up in a lot of complicated history. There are still wild living bison in the United States, but not at all like there used to be. Bison have lived in North America since prehistoric times and were an important animal for some Native American groups. As we moved westward, there was a push to get rid of the bison as a result to limit the amount of native Americans in the western part of the country.
