God gives the Israelites judges so that they won't be like Assyria and Babylon. They can only gather in for one day's worth or two days if it's the Sabbath. God prevents them from ever saying well this object if I keep it in my storehouse then I have God's blessing squared away. You cannot lock down your political leadership in this Kingly line instead you have to wait for God to raise up each individual as the occasion demands.
