It's difficult to say which will prevail. The russians showed this morning that are in terms of escalatory intention, they will always be on the front foot. In recent years, when the crimina got int similar situations like this and created opposition, the response has been to double down. Unfortunately, only a small percentage of the repressive apparatus of the crem controls is switched on here - so most likely that will be turned up. So that even though russian may privately express horror and disgust at what's happening, it's unlikely to have a real political leverage.
