The Importance of Sales in Silicon Valley
30% of the companies I talked to used piggybacking off Craigslist or referrals as one of their main drivers. As a counter example, Uber and Lyft, not a big lever for them for supply getting drivers. It's really interesting that it highlighted sales being the actual most common thread between the companies. And that's just, it's so wonder discussed, the sales is almost like a bad word and Silicon Valley. But it's not. We'd rather just build product and create viral loops and SEO.
