I Was in Mortal Terror

"I was in mortal terror, the young man who wanted my heart and liver," Sleepy writes. "If I slept at all that night, I was only to imagine myself drifting down the river on a strong spring tide to the hulks." He says he stole bread, some rind of cheese, about half a jar of mince meat,. some brandy from a stone bottle, which he decanted into a glass bottle used for making Spanish licorice water. A meat bone with very little honor, a beautiful round compact pork pie were also stolen.
