The Dual Mate Hypothesis of Ovulatory Shift

The dual mate hypothesis is the idea world that women select a man who is a provider for a long term relationship and then a man for good genes, which typically means cues of health. This was a dominant strain of thought in evolutionary psychology until recently. Now we're moving away from that toward a new hypothesis they call the mate switch and hypothesis which is actually that infidelity when it occurs is not seeking necessarily the good genes of another man to stay in the relationship but rather it's an attempt to switch to another relationship.
