Helmut: Mary had a lot of rows, doesn't she? She does seem to take exception to people. And then she goes for them. It seems to me if she doesn't get her own way, she takes to her sick bed until she does. But you know, the interesting thing is that she will invest the same degree of passion into an argument with say a favorite nun who's appointed elsewhere and has to leave. Helmut: What we see is a public persona through the correspondence.
