The effects of social spending are not felt instantly. They move in a different temporality than inflation, the pendemic climate crisis or extreme weather events. The effects of that don't work politically to mobilize people and demobilize them. So on the one hand, we have to get smart. On the left, about the temporalities of progressive programmes,. versus a, you know, the daily news or the minute by minute news. And on the other hand, we need to get smart about a reactiveness to a series of things that the right has become really good at baiting the left and the liberals with.
