I think what the market is now focused on is we're closer to the end than the beginning. To your point about rate hikes, earnings were not nearly as bad in the first quarter as analysts estimated. So I think what people are realizing is this is an inflation-induced slowdown. It's not a credit crunch- induced slowdown. And that has a very different implication for equities and for the economy.
