The idealized Bayesian inference is not something that the neural network literally does. It's combining all of these functions together it's still able to generalize to new circumstances despite having many pieces that are kind of exact memorizers. Yet when you make Bayesian predictions, the new average over these neural networks will be really good.

He leads research at OpenAI and is one of the architects behind the GPT models. Prior to OpenAI, Ilya was co-inventor of AlexNet and Sequence to Sequence Learning.
