The obvious thing is not the fast thing. You'd like it to be. And so I mean, there's a question of what is your benchmark measure? Or do you want to measure what a typical programmer would see? That also makes it really... It makes it difficult to know what's the best thing to do. But on the other hand, you have this simple set of rules for most of the language for the typical cases,. which I think is really beneficial.
