The Referee's Discipline in the First Half

I feel like he just didn't quite have control of it today. He swung wildly between being really disciplined, not letting anything go, and then letting all sorts go. It seemed to referee the first half and second half to a different set of rules. I think we were giving away a lot of real cheap fouls.
