The Garden of Eden

There's a garden of Eden imagery in the story, but it doesn't amount to much. Severeid is telling himself a story that was recounted to him by Thecla during her time in the cell. She says she was 13 and she has a friend named Domnia.Domnia refused to look in the face of others as well as keeping her own covered. So just as a character, that kind of resonates with this particular story.
