Is the Standing Doctrine a Good Idea?

CNN's John Sutter says conservative judges are playing fast and loose with the law. He argues that it shows either bankruptcy or bad faith of legal conservatism. The court is free to revisit standing cases, but shouldn't be able to make a constitutional right meaningless through this kind of elaborate procedure charade, he says.
