The Relationship Between Adjective and Noun in Romance Languages

The order of adjective and noun does have some differences in romance languages. In spanish it has to do with restrictiveness but i've never heard of a literal figurative split with that. There's something tickling in my brain that there's a natural language of europe where using a word like grand actually does confer a figurative sense rather than a literal sense.
