When the light shows up, the darkness has to flee. Paul contrasts two dominions or kingdoms in his intro to Colossians. Just like perfect love drives out fear, light drives out darkness. Flip on a light switch, you'll watch all the darkness leave. And so we have this dichotomy of darkness and light. Same thing as love and fear.
