What the Left Wants Now Is a Consumer Welfare Standard
The left wants to use the anti trust laws as a bludgeon to manage the way that industrial structure works. They would like for consumers to have many choices, all of which are of lower quality and higher price. There's a solution, and it's called resale price maintenance. If if you're a company that sells your product that way and people don't want to buy it, you'll bankrupt. Profit and loss is the signal about whether an activity is socially beneficial or not.
