Theopnevstos: God Breathed
The word in Greek there is literally, and for those who are not aware, I use modern Greek pronunciation when I pronounce the Greek of the New Testament. Theopnevstos means God breathed, not in the sense of inspired, but in thesense of what we see in Genesis 2.7,. In other words, this is breath that brings things to life. We can roughly pinpoint when that reading started. It was around the third century with the writer Origen, who kind of popularized and promulgated that reading. Before that, there's a different reading and there's a great book on this.
