The big ones stem from you sort of making decisions on what's important and it sounds crazy as well. There's again an aspect of, I think, one's ego becoming a bit too big on the so-called data-driven quest. You will go down a rabbit hole that will end up frankly wasting everyone's time,. "You'll come back despondent and bitter. This isn't a data-driven company after all," he says.

Building a data team is hard in any circumstance, but at a startup it can be even more challenging. The requirements are fluid, you probably don't have a lot of existing data talent to manage the hiring and onboarding, and there is a need to move fast.
