The Great Polar Bear

A polar bear attacked a group of Arctic explorers, killing one and injuring others. The expedition was supposed to be under the watchful eye of a night-watchman. But fog meant that explosives attached to trip wires failed to fire when triggered. A Norwegian inquiry ruled that the attack could have been prevented if members had stayed in cabins instead of tents.
