The History of the Drink Industry
Susan B. Anthony started her life as a temperance worker and rose to give a speech at the Sons of Temperance Conference in New York this late 1840s, early 1850s. She was told the sisters are here to listen not to speak. And that's what provoked her to get the vote for women. But what started her in her public life was temperance and get the vote so that women could vote in temperance or prohibition. That's the origin of it back in the middle of the 19th century.
