A heuristic autopilot is a rule that you write down on the top of your weekly plan, for example. You're not violating an appointment on your schedule by doing research in the morning when there's no time to do it. The idea is to take the decision of working on this out of your day-to-day decision-making process. So if what we're talking about here is once a week, you don't do morning research the other four days you do. I think it's a perfectly fine example of a heuristic autop Pilot.
