Why History Is Not the Only Discipline That Doesn't Have a Good Understanding of Meta
If you make any claim about causation, you're then necessarily implying a counterfactual claim. Say x caused y, you're necessarily implying without x there would be no y. This is a really important insight, and it's one that the Buddha talks about in his sutta. And I mean, it's also fascinating just to think about if there is this kind of spectrum, we talked about nomathatic and ideographic.
