The Metaphysics of Intensity and Unity in the Quranic Revelation

Sadra wrote extensive commentaries on the holy book, an enterprise intimately connected with his philosophy. As many earlier Muslim theologians had emphasized, the Quran is God's word and hence an attribute of the divine. For Sadra, this means that it makes manifest the ultimate reality that is God himself. The actual verses that get recited are only one manifestation of the single reality that is the Quran.
