Is This One of My People?
We experience it all the time in that visceral, almost automatic sense of, yes, this is probably one of my people. This is somebody who might share my values. Based on something as simple as a lawn sign or something on a bumper. Or it tells you unequivocally, no, that person not one of myPeople. That's identity. And that happens every day for all of us, in virtually every social interaction we have. It's fundamental to politics, i would argue, its fundamental to ethics,. It'sfundamental to almost everything.
