The Gibeonites, the Family Story of the Ark of the Covenant

The Gibeonites are brought into the covenant, even if they gave it to the covenant kind of backwards. The fact that Joshua and the people of God, honor the fact that they made a covenant is actually a word of hope for the Gibeonites. So often we just say yes, not because we want to be part of God's family, but because we just want to escape pain. We want to escape hell. And so in that way, maybe we're kind of like the Gibeonite who were brought in because they just didn't want to be destroyed.
