The Prayer Book, the Throwing of the Stool Thread
The idea that somehow these British Isles are a sort of political unit that band together is quite alien really. One of the things has been said about this period is how suspicious each nation is of each other. Charles II tries to kind of retake the British Isles in the early 1650s which ended with the business of hiding up the oak tree.
