At What Level Are Things the Same and Different?
At the lowest levels, everything is the same because they're all just atoms. But at a still lower level of organization, you know, starting o look at molecules and atoms within those structures, those are sort of fungible in a way that the higher level structures are not. And i have an intuition that something changes when we get to the biological, the biological level of organization. So what does this tell you? It tells you you're interested in the whole, but it also means you're nising the differences in that population in a way which may be very different from your own. Can say, 'I don't care about these individuals' - even though many biologes do
