Turkey's political playing field is massively tilted in favor of Erdogan. State lavishes funds on his supporters and the country's media is slavishly pro-government. Of all democracies, Turkey imprisoned the most journalists. The Turkish government initiated more than 30,000 cases for the offense of insulting the president.
