I thought, will you leave your politics out of the classroom? And then it really wasn't. I started life as a journalism major because I'm pretty good at understanding different perspectives. It's because of that like sort of innate curiosity I have to try to understand them That's how I think about my students too. So if I get closer to them and they get closer to me, then what we think politically doesn't matter as muchbecause now we're just humans with a connection.
