Security Is a Younger Discipline Than We Have Collectively Comfortably Believed It Is

At its core, I don't think security is as special as a field as we have collectively comfortably believe it is. It's a younger discipline in the technology field than many of the others that've existed for decades longer. And because of the newness of security relative to these other disciplines, there's more and more for us to gain by learning from them.
