The Principles of Sovereignty, Non Intervention and Responsibility to Protect
Sovereign equality, non intervention were seen as important bulwarks against powerful states deciding who is the good state. But in decolonization many new states struggled to function and cohere. The principles which were seen as great liberal triumphs in western capitals,. particularly in later capitals, no surprise, were actually seen to be quite problematic in many other countries.
