The Impact of Sleep Deprivation on Alzheimer's and Dementia

When people say they're not sleeping enough, I would define that as somebody who goes to bed at midnight and is up at 4 a.m. They have the ability to sleep longer. Sleep deprivation does not manifest as it takes me three hours to fall asleep. It's something that we can provide a measure of intervention to fix. When you talk to a lot of patients who are excessively sleepy, they always happen somewhere in the neighborhood.
