The Benefits of Selective Alpha Blocker Blockers

UCLA has a core group of about four endocrine anesthesiologists and they focus on these cases. They get a lot of practice, all their residents train on it about the phenyl efferent titration curve. And what they do is while we're starting the case, the patient is instructed to take the last dose of alpha blocker the night before surgery. So that's in terms of the choice. I think either one is fine, whatever is accessible to the patient. Our goal is blood pressure usually below like 120 over 80. We want to see some orthostasis where it drops once they stand up.
