The Ramones: The First British Punk Band

Rancid are from the Bay but sound British. The Ramones kind of didn't do it which is kind of cool. I'm trying to think of the punk band that tried to sound British and the like we're thinking of formative punk bands. Who did it start with? Well the clash are British. So are the sex pistols. Right. Green Day maybe we give it to them.
