GPT is in fact a cloud service, but most people don't fully wrap their brains around what that means. One of the biggest times where this misconception comes up is when an app actually includes calls to GPT under the hood. Everything you say to chat GPT or some other GPT based service is in fact being run routed to some server somewhere.
