Minor Cooper Keith's Legacy

United Fruit Company was founded by Minor Cooper Keith, who died a year after the Columbia massacre. United Fruit continued to control much of Central America until the 1970s, when it became Chiquita in a merger. In partnership with the US government, it would go on to overthrow the government of Guatemala in the 1950s and 1960s.
