How to Measure a Standard Cigarette
The United States National Institute of Standards and Technology establishes the standards for everything from peanut butter to cigarettes. The standard cigarette is known by its standard reference materials or SRM 1196, which can be found at the NIST. This scientific emphasis on sameness and consistency may seem a little dull, but it is saving lives every day. Then our friends in the USA are slightly strange here, as they are one of the three countries in the world that still uses Fahrenheit.
