The idea of denominations within protestantism has morfed from one of identifying religious postures or doctrinal distinctives, to one that is more reflective of a corporate and managerial type of denominational structure. When a denomination abandons its gospel center mandate of making disciples of jesus christ, it ends up looking nothing like what it professes itself to be. As matthew 28, verse 19, nd 20, that is your fundamental charter, right there, regardless of what your denomination is and what it subscribes to. That applies across denomination alliance.
