Sally Kohn: I wonder about the way tools can replace us learning the basics. So imagine that you only ever use a calculator, like you never did addition by hand. But on the other hand, maybe you don't understand addition at the same deep level than you would having to at least do it a few times yourself. Do you think we're still going to have to write some essays by hand just to make sure we understand the mechanics of it?Kohn: The short answer is yes, but it's not anything. It's the, you start working with them and then you change them,. You change your institution, you change your practice as ways to discover the amplifications
