Is There a Difference Between State and Religion in Education?
If children don't have a religious education, then they grow up to have a stronger preference for gender quality. This seems to be a good argument in favour of something like the french principle of a laisite where the state and religion don't mix. But if your normative view is that people should be religious, then you wouldn't want public schools to stay out of the religious business.
