The History of the Union Jack

Around the middle of the 1800s, the Irish keen that haunting funeral whale began to overpower the calls for Irish nationalism. People like Lady Wilde wanted Ireland to be independent, free from the clutches of the British. As many as 2 million people fled in desperation. Two come to America and they brought their legends and folklore with them. One popular prank was inspired by Jack of the Lantern. They were carving this face into a turnip and lighting it from within.
